About ICC

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of Achievers College of Commerce and Management is constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act. The committee is committed to providing a safe, secure, and respectful environment for all students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff.

The primary objective of the ICC is to prevent, prohibit, and redress complaints related to sexual harassment within the college premises. The committee ensures confidentiality, fairness, and sensitivity while addressing complaints and follows a transparent inquiry process as prescribed by law.


Objectives of ICC

  • To create awareness about gender equality and the prevention of sexual harassment.
  • To provide a safe and supportive environment for women on campus.
  • To address and resolve complaints promptly and impartially.
  • To recommend appropriate action against misconduct.

Functions of ICC

  • Conducting awareness programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Receiving and inquiring into complaints of sexual harassment.
  • Ensuring protection against victimization or retaliation.
  • Submitting annual reports to the management and concerned authorities.

The ICC plays a vital role in maintaining discipline, dignity, and mutual respect within the institution. Through continuous awareness initiatives and strict adherence to legal provisions, the college strives to uphold the highest standards of ethics and gender sensitivity.


Duties and Responsibilities of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

1. Prevention

  • Create awareness about sexual harassment and gender sensitization.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and orientation programs for students and staff.
  • Display guidelines and contact details of ICC members on campus notice boards.

2. Prohibition

  • Ensure strict compliance with anti-harassment policies.
  • Promote zero tolerance towards any form of sexual harassment.
  • Monitor campus environment to prevent inappropriate behaviour.

3. Redressal

  • Receive written complaints through the SAKHI Complaint Box.
  • Receive complaints through the JATAYU Helpline Number.
  • Complaint Box installed near the Vice Principal’s Chamber for confidential access.
  • Conduct fair, impartial, and time-bound inquiries.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality during proceedings.
  • Provide interim relief or protection to the complainant, if required.
  • Recommend appropriate disciplinary action to the management based on findings.

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain proper records of complaints and proceedings.
  • Prepare and submit annual reports to the management and relevant authorities.

5. Support and Guidance

  • Provide counselling support to the aggrieved person.
  • Ensure protection against victimization or retaliation.
  • Guide students and staff regarding legal provisions and rights.

The Committee shall work strictly as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013 and the University Grants Commission Circular according to Clause 4 (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), (6). Further, the Committee is directed to follow Clause 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the UGC Regulations.
