About the SEDG Cell

The SEDG Cell at Achievers College of Commerce & Management, Kalyan is a dedicated institutional body established to ensure that every student, regardless of their background, has an equal opportunity to excel. In alignment with NEP 2020 and University of Mumbai regulations, the Cell works to bridge the gap for students from marginalized and underprivileged communities.


Core Objectives

1. Holistic Support & Empowerment

  • Academic: Remedial coaching and bridge courses.
  • Financial: Guidance on scholarships and the Maha DBT portal.
  • Psychological: Personal counselling to boost confidence and mental well-being.

2. Promoting Equity and Inclusion

Ensuring that students from disadvantaged backgrounds have fair access to all college resources including laboratories, libraries, leadership positions, and extracurricular clubs.

3. Awareness and Sensitization

  • Workshops for faculty and staff on inclusive pedagogy.
  • Seminars to educate students about diversity and social inclusion.

4. Policy Implementation & Monitoring

  • Strict implementation of Government of Maharashtra reservation policies.
  • Transparent execution of Book Bank and EBC concessions.
  • Compliance with University of Mumbai and UGC directives.

5. Grievance Redressal & Anti-Discrimination

The Cell provides a safe, confidential, and time-bound platform to report discrimination. The college follows a Zero Tolerance Policy toward caste-based or socio-economic discrimination.
