About the Program

The First Year of B.Sc. Information Technology (FYIT) is designed in accordance with NEP 2020 as prescribed by the University of Mumbai. The program introduces students to fundamental concepts of Information Technology, programming, database systems, web technologies, and digital electronics. It aims to build a strong academic foundation and prepare learners for advanced studies and industry-oriented skills.

Learning and Outcomes

After completion of FYIT, students will be able to:

  1. Understand basic programming concepts and logic building.
  2. Develop simple applications using C and C++ programming.
  3. Design and manage basic relational databases using SQL.
  4. Create static and interactive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  5. Apply analytical and problem-solving skills in IT-related tasks.
  6. Gain exposure to vocational and skill enhancement courses under NEP 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed 10+2 (HSC) or equivalent examination
  • Mathematics and/or Statistics as a compulsory subject
  • Minimum 45% marks for Open category and 40% for Reserved category candidates

Higher Education
