About the Anti-Ragging Cell
The Anti-Ragging Cell of the college is constituted in accordance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment.
Ragging is a criminal offence and is strictly prohibited in all higher educational institutions in India. The college is committed to implementing all preventive and disciplinary measures to eliminate ragging and to protect the dignity and well-being of every student.
What is Ragging?
Ragging includes any act that causes physical or psychological harm, fear, embarrassment, or harassment to a student. It includes:
Teasing or abusive behavior
Humiliation or intimidation
Forcing students to perform unwanted acts
Creating a hostile academic environment
Ragging in any form—inside campus, hostels, transport, or during academic activities—is strictly prohibited.

Students and parents must submit Anti-Ragging affidavits at the time of admission
Awareness campaigns are conducted regularly
Violations will result in strict disciplinary and legal action
Punishments for Ragging
Since ragging is a criminal offence, legal action may also be initiated under applicable laws. Depending on the severity of the offence, the following actions may be taken:
Warning or written apology
Suspension from classes or hostel
Fine or community service
Rustication or expulsion
Filing of FIR with police authorities

The college strictly follows the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions (2009). These regulations are mandatory for all universities and affiliated institutions across India. Non-compliance may result in punitive action by the UGC.
